Question: I am a new TA, how do I sign up?
Answer: Check your email regularly. An email related to TA training is sent to all new TAs during August.
 
Question: I have TA experience; do I still need to take the training?
Answer: Yes. It is mandatory for all the incoming new TAs in the department.
 
Question: I have attended similar training sessions elsewhere, do I still need to take the training again?
Answer: Yes.
 
Question: I have attended this training session last year, can I join again?
Answer: Please contact the current TA trainer and explain him/her why you want to attend again.
 
Question: Can I take the training later?
Answer: No. The training will not be offered again in the same year.
 
Question: How much do I have to pay to take the training?
Answer: It’s free for the new TAs.
 
Question: I am not a TA / student of this department, can I join?
Answer: Please contact the current TA trainer and explain him/her why you want to attend here.
 
Question: I am a new student, but not doing any TA work. Is it mandatory for me to join?
Answer: No. But if you later plan to do TA in next term, you will not be able to do so without attending TA training. This training is offered only once a year.
 
Question: I am not a graduate student of UBC this year, but I may be a graduate student/ TA here next year: can I join?
Answer: Sorry, no!
