Two Info Sessions: Innovation UBC & Mitacs

Presentation 1: Innovation UBC

Event Date: Tuesday, October 14, 2025, 11:00 AM – 11:30 AM

Speaker: Smruti Savkur & Andrea Lloyd, Engagement Team, Innovation UBC

Speaker's Page: https://innovation.ubc.ca/

Location: ESB 4192 / Zoom

In the fall of 2024, the University Industry Liaison Office and entrepreneurship@UBC formed Innovation UBC to more closely integrate and align their support with the needs of UBC researchers. At that critical juncture, the Innovation UBC Engagement Team also undertook a process of gathering feedback from UBC’s Research Community through a survey circulated from the Associate Dean of Research Offices. Through this presentation, we hope to re-introduce Innovation UBC’s services and how we support researchers, how we have responded to the feedback we received, and engage in open dialogue with Faculty members.

Presentation 2: Mitacs

Event Date: Tuesday, October 14, 2025, 11:30 AM – 12 PM

Speaker: Mahtab Mazari, Business Development Advisor, Mitacs

Speaker's Page: https://www.mitacs.ca

Event Type: Info Session

Location: ESB 4192 / Zoom

Faculty members, researchers, and students are warmly invited to attend. A Mitacs representative will present on the ways professors, research groups, and students can benefit from Mitacs programs. Those collaborating with industry partners, spin-offs, or other organizations are also encouraged to attend, as Mitacs actively supports collaborative projects between universities and industry.
