The fields of the investigators are described in detail below. They represent a combination of senior and junior scientists who are included on the team to: provide subject knowledge on wood products; provide continuity through long term involvement; build as the project unfolds a regional, not just institutional, pool of experts; provide the skills needed to apply statistical knowledge to the problems described; cover a diverse variety of statistical fields thought relevant to the project. Their fields are listed below.

Investigators

Derek Bingham (Simon Fraser University): design and analysis of industrial experiments, Bayesian design, computer models.

Jiguo Cao (Simon Fraser University): functional data analysis, dynamic systems analysis, Bayesian statistics.

Jiahua Chen (University of British Columbia): design of complex surveys, mixture distributions, statistical theory.

Nancy Heckman (University of British Columbia): functional data analysis, nonparametric regression.

Tom Loughin (Simon Fraser University Surrey): categorical data analysis, design and analysis of experiments, statistics in sports.

Natalia Nolde (University of British Columbia): extreme value theory, quantitative risk management, multivariate and stochastic modeling.

Jürgen Pilz (University of Klagenfurt, Austria). Spatial statistics, monitoring, engineering applications.

Matías Salibián-Barrera (University of British Columbia): software development, robust statistics, quantile regression.

Boxin Tang (Simon Fraser University): design, industrial statistics, survey sampling.

Constance van Eeden (University of British Columbia): estimation in restricted parameter spaces, decision theory, nonparametrics.
